Testimonials for Deer

Chaffhaye is very convenient to feed. There is more consumption by the deer and less waste. Our animals are healthier than they have ever been. Foundering has become non- existent since we began using Chaffhaye. We can count on Chaffhaye’s consistency every time we feed Know-ing our deer are getting the highest nutritional value and continued antler growth that we desire.

My operation is based on two major factors – nutrition & genetics, in that order. I have been a farmer for years and understand the importance of the benefits of quality forage and a feeding program that gives me a net result of a larger/healthier body structure from which to grow better antler. I had an independent lab test your product. The analysis was far better than the information that you stated on your bag! Your TDN of 72% along with the deer eating 100% is the absolute best that I or the lab have ever seen.
You need to tell the deer breeders, that by feeding your product along with their protein pellets they will be extracting 20% more feed value from the pellets or whatever else they combine with the Chaffhaye. With my findings and the fact that you offer this quality product year round I can’t understand why anyone would feed anything but Chaffhaye! We all thank you!

Since we started using Chaffhaye over a year ago, we have seen 100% consumption and our deer look healthier than ever. In addition, our 1 & 2 year old bucks are the best we have ever grown. Here is a picture of a 2 year old buck we grew on Chaffhaye.

I just wanted to let you know how impressed I am about Chaffhaye. It is very convenient in the 50 lb. bag and I do not have to worry about it going bad like the baled alfalfa. I have had it on hand for as long as 1 ½ years and when I opened it the bag it was the same quality as when I first received it. With baled alfalfa I experienced 60% loss due to them not eating the stems. But with
the Chaffhaye there is no waste, 100% is consumed, they really like it. I also like the fact that Chaffhaye is natural forage like on my property. But unlike the forage on my property I know my deer are getting more nutrition with the Chaffhaye. This increased feed value has led to greater antler growth and a higher energy level. I recommend Chaffhaye to anyone wanting to get the most
out of their genetic dollar.

I have an 1100 acre ranch in Texas. I currently have around 60 deer in my breeding operation that was started in 2006. We have experimented with several roughage-based products to try and increase our deer’s intake and to help them break down and absorb the protein pellets more efficiently, but we have not found anything that met our requirements…...until now. We have tried fresh alfalfa hay, alfalfa based pellets, cubes, extruded pellets, etc, etc. None of these products lasted very long in storage and the deer did not consume large quantities of them, they would simply nibble around on it. It must taste the way it looks, like dried grass or cubes? Until now, we stuck with the fresh alfalfa hay as the product of choice, although we were not satisfied with the results. The hay was always eaten as soon as we would throw it in the pens, although they would not touch the stems but rather pick off the leaves. Obviously, the stems are the bulk of the weight purchased and the economics are clearly not there. As for the rest of the products, the deer simply do not like them.

After talking with you about Chaffhaye, I decided to initially purchase a couple tons of the products. It has been the best feed product we have purchased to date. The deer love it and it stores better than anything else on the market. There is no waste by the deer and even better, the raccoons will not eat it. We have noticed a significant increase in antler size and overall healthier looking deer. We feed the hay heavily to our bucks during the antler growing season and to our fawning does. We feel that the hay helps the bucks to absorb more nutrients in the extruded pellets that we feed daily, not including the benefits of the Chaffhaye. As for the fawning does, we cannot feed them enough of the hay! They really crave it during this time period and it obviously has the same great benefits to them as the bucks. It also has a positive effect on the fawns because we feel that a healthier doe equals a healthier fawn. We do not bottle feed very many of our fawns, so the does must be in good condition to produce enough milk for twins and very regularly triplets. Chaffhaye has made our operation much more successful.

Thanks Chaffhaye!

I am a whitetail and axis deer breeder. Each year my prize buck loses 30 to 40 pounds during rut. When my normal feeding program was not bringing his weight back, I began trying every “high end” formulated deer feed I could find. I especially tried feeds with as much fat as I could find just to help him regain his weight.

It was always a struggle just to get him close to the correct weight by the next rut season. Two years ago I actually thought I was going to lose him because he had not gained back the weight.

A year ago I heard about Chaffhaye and started feeding it to a select few of my deer. I was so impressed with the improvement of those few that I started feeding Chaffhaye to all my deer.

My problem buck showed the most dramatic change. He not only regained his 30 to 40 pounds but was able to do that in 3 to 4 months.

I highly recommend Chaffhaye to all deer breeders.

My Parents have about 900 acres in the Texas Hill Country. For years we have tried to supplement feed our whitetail with little or no luck. Over the past five years we have tried various protein pellets and planted several food plots that never seemed to grow because the rains did not come at the right times to achieve a successful amount of growth to sustain our deer population.

The deer seemed to like the protein, but as we quickly learned the deer wasted more protein than they actually consumed because of the inefficiency of protein feeders to dispense protein. We also became aware that we were feeding as many raccoons as we were deer. Since we were supplemental feeding that many raccoons we could not justify the cost of protein to increase our overall trophy quality of our deer herd. This is until we discovered Chaffhaye.

Chaffhaye is the best supplemental food source for out deer herd period. Our bucks have shown a significant increase in antler and body size. In the past two years we have shot some of the biggest bucks we have ever seen on our ranch. The unique thing about Chaffhaye is that raccoons do not eat it and deer end up consuming ever bit of the product. This means that waste is pretty much
eliminated thus making this a more reliable and cost efficient supplemental food source. I have witnessed on several occasions, that deer will actually pass up corn in order to consume Chaffhaye. This is amazing because before Chaffhaye deer would actually pass up protein pellets to eat corn. An additional benefit we have experienced is an increase in fawn survival. We believe the benefits of Chaffhaye have helped our doe population become healthier thus improving the fawn survival rate during the spring, when fawns are born, due to a better quality milk supply by the mother doe.

I have attached a couple of photos of some cull bucks that we have taken in the past two seasons. Even though these are cull bucks you can see the overall benefits of using Chaffhaye. If our cull deer look this good you can only imagine what my trophy deer look like!

My partner JN Grimes and I operate 3 ranches and we raise whitetail deer exclusively. Two of the ranches are for hunting trophy class whitetail deer and the third ranch has 84 deer breeding pens, in addition to being groomed for a hunting operation. We sell about 100 deer per year with superior genetics to other breeders and high fence operators.

All of our breeding bucks are expected to reach at least 200” plus, using the Boone & Crockett (B&C) measure. If we decide they won’t achieve 200” B & C, we take them to one of the pastures to be hunted when they are 5.5 years old or older.

One of the ingredients that we need to feed our deer so they will achieve the full growth their genetic background makes possible is good protein roughage. We have tried all kinds of hay and we were not happy with the consumption, waste or results.

We ran across a goat breeder that bragged on your Chaffhaye Alfalfa and we acquired some, tried it out and to our delight it did everything the goat man said. We thank our friend that let us have a sample of the Chaffhaye.

We recently purchased a truck load of Chaffhaye and it will take us about a year to use all of it. With the Chaffhaye having a 2 year shelf life we can buy in truck lots and save money. Our last purchase before this order was 1/2 truck load and we used it in about 6 months. It stays fresh in the bag and the deer love it. We love it because we have very little waste. When we were using the best grade of fresh alfalfa hay, we had so much waste because the deer wouldn’t eat the stems. We are sold on Chaffhaye and expect to be a long time user.

I would like to thank you for your product –Chaffhaye. Your product works! When I started feeding the Chaffhaye to my Whitetail deer, it only took the consumption of half of a beer for them to take to it. The most obvious thing that I have seen is in the amount of what I am feeding (350 lbs. per week) of the Chaffhaye. Being total consumed. I have designed a feed trough that holds 7 of your bales. When I return in 7 to 8 days the trough is completely bare. I know that it is only the deer that are eating the Chaffhaye since I have a Smart Scouter Camera pointed at the trough 24/7 in a fenced in pen.

I have learned a lot about Chaffhaye from reading your website. I read with the moisture rate of 50% and the tickling effect of the stomach wall caused by the roughage (stems and pieces) is what allows for a higher absorption rate. Now I understand the white spots I see are yeast cultures which are a pro-biotic. This is a natural process from the fermentation and is a good thing for my deer.
Also I now know that the fermentation process creates a pre-digested state which also aids the higher absorption rate. I believe, through my experience with feeding your product, that this is all very true. I have seen a drastic reduction in the amount of manure inside the deer pens versus what I had when I used the corn and protein pellet mix along with the baled alfalfa last year. This confirms that your product is being absorbed at a much higher rate in their digestive systems because of it being fermented. I am not necessarily feeding more pounds of Chaffhaye than what I was feeding in baled alfalfa, it is just very obvious that they are eating all of the Chaffhaye and not leaving any of it on the ground like they did with the stems in the baled alfalfa.
When my friends ask me about how I grow such big bucks I tell them about my experience feeding Chaffhaye, and that nutrition is the most important thing for antler development and then next is genetics & age. They need to be feeding them Chaffhaye free choice so that they can benefit from the genetics that they have already paid for. In short, I tell them that deer need Alfalfa with as high as a protein level as they can get, because for deer to reach a mature age – 5 years, they have to be healthy in order to grow. Deer need the 19% protein that your product offers as well as the great scent that they find irresistible to eat. I believe Chaffhaye attracts deer to my property and gives them the feed value that they need in order for them to meet their full growth potential.

I would personally like to thank you for the shipment of Chaffhaye. It arrived just like you said it would. The bag concept is great. After opening the first bag I was sold. It was dust and blister beetle free, which is very important.

When I started feeding the Chaffhaye to our Whitetail deer, it took every bit of 30 seconds to find it. They acted like they have been eating it all their lives. One thing that I have noticed, is while increasing the amount of Chaffhaye, the consumption of pelleted deer feed has increased. This is exactly what I’m after, total protein intake, larger horn development.

The outstanding difference also, is the amount of total consumption of the Chaffhaye. In the feeding bins they leave nothing. When I fed baled Alfalfa they left 30% to 40 % of the bale in form of stems and dry matter. This makes the Chaffhaye more cost effective. Each and every bag I open is the same, green and moist and ready to go. I have also fed the Chaffhaye to our Elk with the same
results.

From the nutritional value, high digestibility factor, dust and beetle free, natural yeast and easy handling and storage, this is the best hay feed I have ever seen. Keep up the good work.

I want to thank the producers of Chaffhaye for manufacturing and developing a truly great product. We have been feeding the product since October of 2009 with great results. Our deer consume the product well and enjoy the taste. The consistency of the Chaffhaye is what impressed me most as well as the convenience of a vacuum packed bag. Big thanks again to everyone at Chaffhaye! Thank you,

Chaffhaye is very much a part of and greatly compliments the daily diet of my deer breeding operation. I have found the benefits and ease of use of the “pasture-in-a-bag” to be superb! I first turned to Chaffhaye when I was having difficulty obtaining bales of alfalfa. With Chaffhaye being bagged and having a long shelf-life it is easy to always have hay roughage available for feeding.   We serve Chaffhaye in troughs which are just slightly off the ground; thus, it is accessible to all does, bucks and fawn as soon as they are large enough to eat out of the troughs. Lightly misted with molasses, I find that my deer eat all of the Chaffhaye and there is no waste. Thus, for me Chaffhaye has proven to be both cost effective and beneficial for the deer.
