Testimonials for Veterinarians
Chaffhaye is superior for feeding because of its consistency, digestibility, and the fact that there is no waste! I recommend it for feeding to horses that tend to colic and to those with emphysema, since it is dust free.

I have been so concerned lately about my horses not having any fresh feed. I have always had the luxury of pasture even if it was never enough to meet all their needs. Because of the extended drought my horses have not had any fresh feed in about 18 months. It is typical for pasture to be low in the middle of the summer or winter but my horses have had only hay for way too long. There is only so much I can do with feed supplements. I have increased their blue green algae and put out an equipride tub for them to eat free choice but they are still starving for anything fresh. I am giving more carrots and they gobble them up. After studying the literature carefully, I bought some Chaffhaye. This product is processed by fermentation so the enzymes stay active. It comes in a sealed bag and has a nice fresh odor. I have heard about Chaffhaye for years but had never felt the need to add it to my horse feeding program. One of my clients with a horse with severe insulin resistance had used it with great success. The fermentation process breaks down the sugars into lactic acid so the Chaffhaye has even less sugar than most baled hays. I was concerned that my horses might not eat it, so I added a very small amount to their low starch pellets. They all loved it. Even Cerise ate it! I am hopeful that I can gradually increase the amounts to maybe 20% of the diet and still keep hay out since I can only get the alfalfa version in my area. The last alfalfa hay I got was mostly stem so I will stop feeding that and use the Chaffhaye instead.

Chaffhaye is a wonderful product that I believe will revolutionize the hay industry. Because of the storage process it retains much of the moisture and texture of the hay in its uncut form. This makes it soft and comfortable for the animal to chew. It also makes it a more natural feed for the horse, adding more moisture to the intestinal tract and possibly reducing some forms of colic. I first became interested in Chaffhaye while looking for a product that I could be proactive against colic in the horse. We began to feed Chaffhaye to part of our herd to evaluate its effectiveness. We started feeding more than the recommended amount because it seemed to be too little for any horse. We soon discovered that the horses that we increased the amount fed became fat. We had to cut back to the recommended amount. We saw that our horses shed off earlier in the spring and that the body condition and muscle tone improved. I would say that our horses blossomed on the Chaffhaye. I have continued to recommend Chaffhaye to my clients, especially those with older horses with dental abnormalities. Most of these horses after getting their teeth floated and being placed on Chaffhaye will begin to put on weight and act much younger. Having more energy and becoming more playful. The processing of the alfalfa by the microbes I believe is beneficial in many ways. The microbes should convert much of the protein in the hay to a much more available form increasing the biological value of the total protein content. Because of the increased biological value of that protein the work load of the kidneys should be reduced. The reduced amount of overall feed given to the horse will also reduce the total mineral content given to the horse, also reducing the work load of the kidneys. This makes it a safer feed than most alfalfas for the horse. The digestibility of the feed is dramatically increased and the animal gets so much more from the feed. We also have fed ruminants with the Chaffhaye. We fed them free choice and never did I see one bloat on it. The effectiveness of Chaffhaye is wonderful. All of the animals that we have fed have done great and have increased their condition. I believe that Chaffhaye is the best feed on the market for most classes of livestock.
